Hope Community Charter School recognizes the tremendous impact teachers have on student achievement. We believe that great teachers help create great students. In fact, research shows that an inspiring and informed teacher is the most important school-related factor influencing student achievement. Our teachers’ own self-efficacy and the personal messages of accountability, caring, and encouragement they express each day show them to be the heart and soul of Hope Community Charter School.
HIRE AND RETAIN HIGH QUALITY, MISSION ALIGNED TEACHERS
Since the quality of a school’s instructional program depends on the quality of the teachers, Hope Community Charter School engages in a multi-step hiring process to recruit highly effective teachers who share in our mission. The multi-step hiring process includes resume and reference screening, lesson observations, and an intense round of interviews to determine if the candidate possesses the skills and passion necessary to build a caring relationship with our students and guide them to develop a high level of academic mastery. Once hired, teachers work closely with mentors, teaching coaches and colleague teachers to produce measurable results in a supportive environment. Teachers will receive common planning times, the tools necessary to effectively execute their professional tasks, professional development to support their goals, and bonus opportunities based on personal and student performance.
